Hinano has paid tribute to eight-time world surfing champion Kelly Slater by producing a special beer can with a logo created by Quiksilver for the Hawaiian market.
Anheuser-Busch Hawaii, the distributor of Hinano Beer and O’Tahiti bottled water, launched the Kelly Slater collector’s can a few months ago. This limited production pays tribute to Slater’s eighth world championship.
Quiksilver, which designed the original “SL8R” logo, has authorized Hinano to use the exclusive logo on its beer cans. The collector’s item is destined only for the Hawaii market and its big audience of surfers and Hinano fans.
Hinano has been distributed throughout the Hawaiian Islands since 1998. Initially launched by the famous outrigger canoe paddler Jim Foti, Hinano today is handled by the N° 1 beer distributor in the U.S.A., Anheuser-Busch.
Hinano is now found in Hawaii’s main bars and restaurants as well as supermarkets in three forms—33cl and 50cl bottles and the new 33cl SL8R cans.
